This silver LIVE LIVE pendant and necklace represent a man of decency, strength, honor and an artist of life.
DJ Hideo was a giving person who loved life and the people around him.

The turntable represents his gift of music to us all, the head phones represent the solitude found within the music he played and shared with us all. The peace sign represents the love he had for his friends and family and the masses who celebrated the music he created for us on a daily basis. The turntable needle coming form the peace sign hand represents the extension of himself, being one with his music and the music one with him.
The chain for the pendant is called the 8 chain, it represents life’s full circle and the internal flame that burns for DJ Hideo.

The back of the pendant you will find the philosophical gift he left to us all, his last words in many ways, Live Life.

In life, DJ Hideo brought us together in song and in death brought us all together in celebrating his life. He was, and is an American Icon who helped popularize the Hip Hop culture domestically and internationally.
He gave us so much and never disappointed us.
This pendant was created by DJ Hideo as a gift to us all, it is a symbol of hope, happiness and much love.  When this chain is worn, not only do we support the memory of DJ Hideo, we also support the cause of peace and love worldwide…
So in the words of DJ Hideo, “Live Life”.

One reason why I love making art is for the opportunity to learn from the pieces that I work on.

Working on this piece changed me as a person and artist. I wanted to draw every strand of Hideo’s hair and every curl of thread on his jacket. Seeing his face and knowing his mantra “Live Life” made me note that art is like life, you want to capture all the little details because you won’t be around forever.
I want to make sure that I enjoy all the little details every day like simply walking to the car or talking to a friend, like looking at all the details while making an illustration to “Live Life”.
