Hi everyone! Wanted to let everybody know that I check in back @ Mission hospital last week because of the weakness that I’ve been feeling for the past week. My vitals are stable and now need the assistance of a ventilator to breathe. I’m very aware of my condition and communicate in writing.

Right now, the one thing I really do miss is drinking a nice ice cold soda.

Soon after the news got out that I was in the hospital, many friends took the time out to visit, call, message and email me, thank you. I also received many, many beautiful gifts, thank you again. I can’t express how much I truly appreciate each and everyone of you. I know and feel very fortunate for this and will never forget the daimoku, prayers, support, encouraging words and love I have received from all of you. You are all a part of my life.

I started my first chemotherapy treatment soon after my surgery. This first treatment will last three whole days straight.

Did you know that the word chemo in chemotherapy means chemical?

Since the cancer is in an advance stage, the treatment was really aggressive with multiple intravenous bags going to work. The hardest and most annoying part was being tethered to the IV stand while trying to wheel it around with one hand when walking. During this time I was thinking how wonderful it was to have such great care from the hard working and dedicated staff here in the hospital.

The next step is treatment in getting rid of this cancer. On February 06, 2009 I went under the knife and had surgery done to insert a portacath so I could begin my treatment. This was one of the few times in my life that I ever really felt nervous. The surgery was a success and I was now ready to start my journey to win this battle.

For the colonoscopy preparation I had to drink four liter of this liquid cocktail in two parts to clear and flush my system. This was the worst, such an awful taste, over and over again. Only you who have done this know.

My advice is that you all of you over the age of 40, especially males, research and consider having  a colonoscopy done, your health does not have to be a mystery.

The colonoscopy went as planned and a biopsy was done. After meeting and talking with several doctors, many options were discussed and a course was decided on for my recovery.

My story begins on the day of February 03, 2009 when I admitted myself to emergency at the Mission hospital in Mission Viejo, Ca. Within an few hours after checking in and performing several tests, I under went a CT scan. The results were stage four colon cancer, the last thing I could have ever imagined. Since the cancer is metastasis, I was told that the cancer has also spread to my liver. I was admitted to the hospital soon after and scheduled for a colonoscopy the next day.
